A while ago my Compaq Presario V6000 laptop stopped working on the internet. It always shows "connected" in the wireless networks window like it normally would, but when I try to do anything at all on the internet, the browsers just show the regular "page cannot be displayed" page. So basically, my computer says the internet works, but the internet doesn't work.
It's not a network problem. The other person's computer in my home works fine.
I've tried so many different spyware and virus removers reccommended by people, but they all say there's no spyware or virus there that would cause a problem.
I can't just wipe my hard drive because my laptop didn't come with an installation disc, and when I call HP they say I have to pay upwards of $60 for an OS disc to be sent to me, which I really can't afford.
What could be the problem???
OR
Is there a way I can get HP to send me my OS disc for free, since I ALREADY paid for this computer and it's operating system??

"page cannot be displayed" error message on web page -- the page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The website might be experiencing technical difficulties.
I would check your router to see if you have a WEP, WPA or even a MAC filter in place and make sure that your laptop's setup to accommodate those settings.
most HP computer comes with a built-in recovery option. You should pay close attention when you boot up your laptop. Look for an option to press F10, F12 etc command that would allow you to restore your laptop back to its factory settings.
TIP: back up all your files before doing so.
