Does any Anti_Virus Stop Virues, Why Not!?

A couple years ago, there was a commercial that depicted use of Anti-Virus or Anti_Spyware it would stop it in it;s tracks !

Do you believe that if you have Mc Cafee or Trend Micro,

Norton, AVG that the Malware is stopped in its tracks?

Microsoft reported , surfing the internet within 16 minutes you get infected Malware, downloaded to your computer without your knowledge.

The main reason script kiddies that write these programs are getting pretty creative and sophisticated writing trojan's, worms and Spyware plus going around windows firewall or completely shutting down your firewall in Windows XP Home.

I found answers on the "computer calk show" at www.tantalk1340.com Saturday mornings at 11:am...I can log to the internet on using my "smart phone" (Iphone) or Ipod.

I had a question regarding Windows Vista administrative rights, I called in and ask the computer guys questions and got answers for free, these guys are great and funny too!

Antivirus does not STOP viruses, it DETECTS viruses. The difference being it won't stop you running the program, it will just alert you and allow you to take action.

No. Basically anti virus is always one step behind.

Someone writes a new virus. A few PCs are infected and report to AV, who then update their databases to combat further attacks.

Bit like saying there is no crime because we have policemen.

Yes, I think the protection programs I have stops all pc infections.
