I'm getting this error message after I log in to Windows XP SP2:
Explorer.exe unable to locate component.
This application has failed to start because Normaliz.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
I got this error message after I tried to install IE7 and restarted the computer. I can log in to Windows, but I get nothing except my background and a cursor. I can start Firefox if I ctrl+alt+delete and select "New Task."
I tried running Windows setup, but I don't get the option to repair my installation. I just see my hard drive listed.
I have AVG free installed and checking for viruses every night and I recently checked for spyware, so I don't think either of those could be the problem.
How can I fix Windows without losing all my applications and settings?
Explorer.exe unable to locate component.?symatec
here.
If you have the installer for IE7, extract the file Normaliz.dll into the c:\winnt\system32 folder using Winrar or equivilent. The file Normaliz.dll can also be found at http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dll-fi...
if you dont want to go to the trouble of extracting the file.
Explorer.exe unable to locate component.?vista
Even i faced this problem once but it just got away after another restart.. problem might be because your windows is not genuie or you've tried to change the windows product key before. because after installing this, you get new updated in your computer. just make sure that your windows is genuie and then no problem.
It's a problem with the beta of IE7. You should read this forum for more help, they're having the same problems as you.

Losing data on a hard drive is the worst nightmare of any computer owner. However, some hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful
