You know how computers always slow down after a long time of use? Well, I recently (a couple months ago) completely reinstalled Windows XP on my 700 MHz Laptop (I know that it's slow but it works OKay for my purposes) and whenever I first logged in, it literally logged in 2 seconds. and it stayed like that for a long time, even after I installed my applications. It's starting to slow down again, and there is no virus or spyware or anything like that. I was wandering if there was a free or cheap (preferably 60 dollars or less) program that kind of restores the Windows XP "newness" so that it's fast again? And I really don't want to reactivate or anything. Thanks.
Is there a computer application that is capable of doing this?spyware removal
Nope!! Just practice good computer practices and you will not encounter this.
1. Good Antivirus
2. Webroot Spysweeper, locks down the HOST file and restricts any attempt to store anything on your computer without your approval. It runs ALL THE TIME unlike any other spysweeper program
3. Run Disc clean up once a month
4. Run Defrag once a month
5. Reduce the amount of program that start up when Windows launches. From the RUN command type if MSCONFIG. Look at the startup tab and de-select anythign that doesn't need to be there. You will see all of the Winamp, Adobe, Quicktime (and many more) programs loading on startup...THEY DO NOT NEED TO!!!
