I've used Windows Movie Maker (among other converters) and on some of my feature film movies the audio track doesn't remain in sync with the video. I really like that the file size, with WMM, finishes around 250-300MB instead of 700-900MB like it does with other converters but the audio problems kill it.
It's just such a hassle to sort through the mess that is the converter industry - massive spyware, false promises, insane output file sizes and converting times... it's not worth the headache.
What I'm looking for is a FREE - not a free trial - FREE program that can turn 700-1400MB avi files into relatively small sized and high quality wmv files tailored for the Zune. Obviously it must convert to 320x240, 50 frames per second, 128kbps audio and blah blah blah. No problems, just simple conversions.
Please don't respond with "I don't know" or "try out this free trial." Something that's tried and true and proven to work for you will do just fine.
Thanks for your time.
