How do I get rid of the redirect problem in Internet Explorer?

I've got the redirect problem going on in my Internet Explorer even though I have Webroot Spy Sweeper. Spy Sweeper let it through and is not detecting the problem when I sweep.

So I decided to go to Lavasoft and get their free download to fix it. When I click on their free download link I get a quick message that my browser is going to a mirror site and I end up at C/NET DOWNLOAD.com. I thought this might be a bad thing, so I stopped.

When I went to Spybot, my Webroot Spy Sweeper blocked it and said that it was a known spyware site. So I'm guessing I was redirected yet again. How can I safely get to a spyware removal site? Is there another way to fix this problem?

Thank you!

1. Download and run firefox to protect your from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ) .Then update your windows through firefox

Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

install addition protection into firefox with

Adblock Plus 0.7.5.3

There's a browser safer than Firefox...

...it is Firefox, with NoScript!
